Every steak lover has faced this age-old dilemma: Should I eat it all now and risk not having room for dessert? Or do I take leftovers
home, knowing that this perfect piece of prime beef will never quite reach the same heights again?
Fleming’s Executive Chef Russell Skall sympathizes. And now, with the launch of LeftoverSteakRecipes.com, he offers simple ways to make the most of last night’s steak.
Russell was inspired by a Fleming’s guest who wasn’t planning to take her leftover steak home because she didn’t know what to do with it. “I gave her a recipe to make steak and eggs the next morning. It was the beginning of a beautiful website.”
Visitors to the site will find delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner recipes that Russell makes for his own family at home, as well as creations inspired by his fellow chefs at Fleming’s. And while each takes leftovers to new levels of creativity, versatility is still key. Says Russell, “The great thing is that these dishes work with virtually any cut of steak. And you don’t have to be a professional chef to pull them off.”
Russell will also answer reader questions, from how long to reheat to how doneness can influence recipe choice. He invites Fleming’s guests to submit their own recipe ideas as well. “This is just a start. I look forward to seeing lots of creative thinking from Fleming’s steak aficionados.”
One final piece of sage advice from Russell: “Just don’t forget and leave the to-go bag in the back seat of your car.”
