longtime doobie Brothers Manager
Bruce Cohn leads a double professional
life, having owned and operated his
B.R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma valley
for years. He created doobie Red in
memory of Keith Knudsen, who had
been the drummer for the doobie
Brothers from 1974 until his death in
2005 at the age of 56. the proceeds
from doobie Red benefit the national
veterans Foundation, an organization
that was important to Keith, and close
to the hearts of everyone involved
with the band.
a tribute to the easygoing sound
of the Grammy®-winning doobies,
this mellow Bordeaux blend reflects
music’s power to enhance good times
with good friends. aged in premium
French oak, its rich black cherry
and plum notes create a unique yet
accessible flavor that plays out with a
long, satisfying finish.
“I wanted to do something for the vets and the national veterans Foundation, and showcase all doobie
albums as well,” says Cohn.
the 2005 doobie Red Collectors
Series is the fourth set of three wines
commemorating the doobie Brothers’
remarkable discography. the bottles
are labeled with the following album
covers: One Step Closer, Farewell Tour
and Best of The Doobies Volume II.
“they made fifteen albums, so I
decided that over a five-year span, we
would feature three album covers with
each vintage,” Cohn explains. “We’re
about to release the last set, and in the
near future, we’ll release a Collectors
Set that includes all 15 labels.”
In addition to the proceeds from the wines, Cohn puts on concerts at the winery to benefit both Sonoma children’s and veterans’ charities. details on these highly anticipated events can be found at www.brcohn.com.
